Serena Williams sure likes to do things completely. When the tennis star unveiled her Serena clothing line earlier in May, she discovered that it was missing something important and that is an option for the sizes above XL. Not wanting to rush and end up producing below standard products, she decided to go slowly with putting efforts into producing another perfect product.

According to her, they desired to do things right and so they started again from scratch and right back to their drawing board. She added that they made use of plus-size models and they wanted to ensure that the models felt like those clothes were actually made for them and not just extended. The extra effort has led to the launching of her new collection called Great which is a lineup comprising of different occasion wears which can effortlessly take wearers right from gym even to date night all in a classy style.

She dropped the “plus” word and used an adjective she considers more uplifting and she is looking to ensure that her customers feel and also look absolutely good. The line will offer up to an additional 3x and will be made available at Neighborhood Goods, a Dallas-based shop. Williams is a fashion icon who is very passionate about getting the best in both fit and materials.

According to her, whenever she wants to get a quality shirt, she goes to a high-end department store where it goes for about $495.  She added that it remained important to maintain that kind of quality but also ensure that it remains under $200.

It has plenty of leggings as well as dressed-up essentials that includes a lace tracksuit. Since Williams welcomed her daughter in 2017, she admitted that there has been a shift in what she prioritizes when it comes to style. She said that she no longer wears the kind of tight shirts she used to wear because one’s body changes when one becomes a mom. She admits that she loves her body and happily embraces it.

That doesn’t change the fact that she admits that her fashion sense has changed. The change now implies that she has more tendency to opt for relaxed pieces though she still tries to feed the glamour puss within her. She said she loves to be the kind of mom that moves around looking fabulous.

She expressed her hope that the ladies who wear the pieces from her line would also have that feeling of confidence.  The tops and sweaters have slogans like I am beautiful and I am Sorry and they all stand as evidence of her empowering vision. She mentioned that the pieces all have different statements and they are basically just reminding people to be themselves, doing that with pride and also being unapologetic about that.

Williams said women ought to take time to give themselves pats on their backs as they do not do so enough. To her, women are always a bit too critical and it’s actually important that not only lift others up but to also lift themselves up.

Partnership With Neighborhood Goods

Williams partnered with Neighborhood Goods to launch her Great line.  Williams said she saw it as a good way to break into the traditional shop. The line offers its services directly to consumers and that helps them to effectively do away with the need for supply and middlemen.

Over time, she said she has discovered that it’s quite difficult for people to know the actual quality of items sold online. She has plans to continually drop new products monthly on the site.
